Selena Gomez has a worldwide fame as an actress and singer. One of the projects she has participated in and which has the most successful is the Disney series called Wizards of Waverly Place. Her full name is Selena Marie Gomez. Her birth date was July 22nd on 1993 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett is her mother and Ricardo Gomez is her father. Selena's mother was just 16 years old at the time she came into the world. At the age of nine years old, Selena landed her first role in show business by being cast as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. Thus she became one of the children who were the only anthropomorphic purple dinosaur in history. Selena was a part of the cast for a number of seasons in seasons 7 and 8, between 2001 to 2003. Selena was not the only actor to appear in Barney as well as His Friends during this period. Demi Loveto also worked on the show. Following the end of the show, Selena Gomez auditioned for several roles in other programs as well as films, but wasn't particularly successful. There was a small role on Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) in 2003 and an additional role as Julie as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire. She was also cast as Emily Grace Garcia, a person she wrote musical to play in the 2006 film Brain Zapped.
